The PTO executive board meets monthly to manage events that the organization sponsors and to collaborate with the school community to identify PTO needs. Additionally, the PTO holds several General Meetings during the school year to discuss current and upcoming PTO events/activities, the school principal's report, staff and student updates and other school news/information. These meetings also provide a platform to allow Thomas families to discuss issues and raise questions. ALL members are encouraged to attend General Meetings.
The PTO raises funds to support the school community's work and activities. Revenue is acquired through fundraising, donations and grants. PTO programming benefits ALL Thomas students.
Operating costs for the PTO are approximately $18,000 per year
The fall fundraiser pays for a majority of the PTO's budget (approximately 50%)
An annual budget is approved at the May General Meeting each year for the following school year
WE NEED YOU!!! We encourage each family to volunteer for at least one event per year. If you are unable to attend the event itself, there is always plenty of work that needs to be done to prepare (making phone calls, decorating, baking, scheduling vendors, etc.)
Additionally, we encourage each family to donate $20 to help cover PTO programming for the year. This can be done by participating in our annual fall fundraiser or by making a direct donation on our Donations page. We are now a 501(c)(3) organization so donations are tax-deductible.
Thank you in advance for your support of the PTO! Parent involvement is a vital part of a successful educational experience for our children!
